What do you think? It is a good idea to offer my art on Zazzle products, where shoppers can customize the design, add text or whatever?
The link will take you right to the page… my store there is not open to the public yet.
I started playing on Zazzle with some of my original button designs, thought it would be fun to offer other round products (like earrings and cuff links instead of just buttons) but things keep disappearing… reading the agreements tells me that they will delete products that are poorly described or violate copyright rules. Maybe they think my original clipart crosses and peace signs are stolen designs?
I don’t know… so, I’m starting with art.
I shall not be doing any new designs for a bit… I had a wee stroke just before Thanksgiving that affected the vision in my right eye. Right now, it is like trying to see through frost on a windshield at sunrise on a wintry day, only the frost is gray instead of white. Some areas have that fine crystallized pattern thing going on and I can see between the frost. Other areas are blotchy, like pale gray clouds that I cannot see through at all. Hopefully, it will clear up on it’s own… I have an appointment with an eye specialist, so maybe there is something they can do about it. Anyways, I’m letting you know because it is hard to look at my computer monitor. I can deal with small screens, like on my cell phone, but it might be awhile before I’m able to do things like remove backgrounds for photo buttons with graphic design software.
In the meanwhile, I can still play with pencils… who can say no when a four year old asks, “can we draw pictures?”
Just playing… doodle drawing pictures… this one is mine.
Thanks for reading!
UPDATE: I spoke too soon… oh to have frost again! A black night sky, speckled with tiny dots of light that resemble far away stars, replaced the frost on Saturday. I so hope it clears again and/or that eye specialist can fix it.
My latest drawing… just finished it on Friday night. “One Cat Pass” is a representational abstract about my dead cat, Mr. Marsberry, passing through a cat shaped gate. Bit odd, yes… but it still feels odd that he’s not here anymore. The blue balloon wasn’t planned, wasn’t sure what would go there, was thinking maybe an eye but the balloon seems to fit.
Yes, I will post this drawing on my other blog since I already posted a photo of it there when it was ye maybe a third done… but since THIS blog is being revised to include my art, I need to start posting my art here. I did start some gallery pages by sizes under the “Art, &c.” page. In time, everything should all come together.
“One Cat Pass” was drawn with Faber-Castell Polychromos (oil based colored pencils) on 140 lb. Canson paper, 9 x 12 inches. Thanks for looking!
